The Academic
Skills Center offers the following one-credit* courses to help students
strengthen their computer and typing skills:
AS030
Internet Tips & Tricks
This
project-based course will provide the student with an introduction
to the knowledge needed to use the Internet effectively at school,
at work and at home. Activities include the mastery of key features
of browser software, searching the Web, using email and compression
software.
AS031
Understanding Your PC
This
practical course consists of tutorials, lessons and lab activities
to help students quickly master computer literacy skills and
the Windows operating system.
AS032
Microsoft Word for Beginners
This
project-based course includes lessons, lab and reinforcement
activities to help students quickly master the basics of Microsoft
Word.
AS033
Keyboarding (Touch Typing) for Beginners
This
useful course covers the basics of touch-typing on a computer
and includes lessons, games and methods to help students develop
keyboarding skills.
*These
courses are free to NEIT students and count as credits for financial aid;
however, they do NOT fulfill credit requirements for
graduation.
