Academic Skills Center Services

The Academic Skills Center (ASC) is a resource for New England Tech students. It provides a wide range of personalized services from assessment and placement to academic advising and individual tutoring. It offers students enrichment courses in English grammar and vocabulary, in communication skills, note-taking and memory skills. Study skills workshops are also offered during the pre-quarter breaks. The ASC also provides enrichment courses to improve students' computer, Internet, keyboarding and word processing skills.

The Academic Skills Center is for you if you:

  • are a non-traditional student and want to brush up your skills
  • are an "A" student and want to keep your competitive edge
  • want to improve your study skills
  • need help organizing your thoughts when writing term papers
  • need to use the Internet or word processing software
  • need help with math or physics
  • have a difficult course and don't want your coursework to fall behind
  • find English difficult because it is not the language you speak at home
