New England Tech's Heating Technology Department Has Gone "Green"

All #2 heating fuel used in the heating lab has been removed and replaced with B5 Biofuel which is a blend of petroleum and fuel made from "renewables" such as oils made from soy beans or other sources, thus resulting in reduction of imported oils. The biofuel transfer was conducted by T. H. Malloy, based in Cumberland, R.I.

Hiring Managers from FM Global speak to IT students about co-op opportunities

Representatives from FM Global in Johnston, RI visited NEIT Information Technology classes last quarter seeking candidates for their upcoming winter co-op opportunities.  Paul Roche, Manager/Data Network Infrastructure at FM Global, spoke to students about IT co-op opportunities for NEIT candidates.  FM Global has hired numerous IT students from both the Network Engineering Technology and the Software Engineering Technology programs for its 6-month student co-op positions. Mr. Roche stated, “We especially like NEIT students for our positions.  We want to be sure that students are aware of the variety of opportunities available. We have had great success in the past and want to continue to hire new talent.”

Mr. Roche also brought along Michael Duarte and Paul Lesogor, both 2006 IT graduates and former FM Global co-op students.  Both are now full-time IT employees for FM Global and are able to discuss their experience with current students. NEIT’s Career Services Office encourages students to stop by the office for information about FM Global’s co-ops and other opportunities.
