The Open Mic event on February 3 was a great student activity that showcased the talents of students. Performances included singing, poetry, and music. The next Open Mic event will be on May 12, 11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Students, faculty and staff are invited to perform.


On March 10, Mr. Fred Horne of ARRI Lighting conducted a workshop on Lighting Techniques. Watch for postings for more workshops on lighting this quarter. For more information contact John Murney, VRP Instructor, at jmurney@neit.edu.

The TechArts exhibit in the Library has about 90 pieces on display. NEIT students, alumni, faculty and staff, have submitted these works of art. Artwork will be displayed throughout the month of April. Come see the creativity of the NEIT community.

GUEST SPEAKER

Debra Cohen, Associate Professor of Law from Southern New England School of Law, will conduct a presentation on consumer issues. Topics will include credit card fraud, identify theft, and credit reports. The presentation will be in the Student Lounge between 11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. All students, faculty and staff are invited.

BLOOD DRIVE
R.I. BLOOD CENTER

The Blood Drive will be located in the Student Lounge from 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. The February Blood Drive collected 36 pints. One donation can help save 3 lives. Up to as many as 108 people will be helped because of the generosity of the NEIT community. Thank you to all donors.

OPEN MIC

Open Mic event will be on May 12 in the Courtyard of the CT Building, weather permitting. (If rain, Student Lounge.) If you are interested in performing, please sign-up on May 5 or May 10 at 11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. in the lobby of the CT Building.

May 17, 19, & 24, 2005
POOL TOURNAMENT

The first 16 students to sign-up will be divided into two groups of eight. Group A, the first eight students to sign-up, will play on May 17 at 3:00 p.m., and Group B, the last eight students to sign-up, will play on May 19 at 3:00 p.m. The winner of Group A and the winner of Group B will play each other for the overall pool tournament winner on May 24 at 11:15 a.m. All games will be played in the NEIT Game Room.

BROWN BAG SEMINAR

Brown Bag Seminars are offered monthly with different topics for discussion. All students, faculty and staff are invited to attend. Bring your bag lunch and we will supply the beverage as well as the intellectual stimulation. The May 26 topic is '"Connecting Through Rhythm'". Dave Curry will be presenting a lecture demonstration on drumming circles and will also be incorporating 15 of his own drums. This event will be in the Courtyard of the CT Building, weather permitting. in the event of rain, the event will take place in the Student Lounge.

Some Past Events
The International Fair event on March 1 was a great opportunity for students from diverse cultures to share their heritage with others. Items were on display and music was played for the enjoyment of all.
The next International Fair will be in September 2005. Students, faculty and staff are invited to set up a table display.
