Education Has Opened Doors for NEIT Grad
|
Jeff Forget enjoyed getting a degree at NEIT in
1986, and again in 1989 and again in 2001. His three degrees in
Electronics Technology (AS), Electrical Technology (AS), and Computer
Information Systems Technology (BS), respectively, have allowed
him to travel a very fulfilling career path.
Jeff's work experience includes employment as a service technician
at Yushin America, work as a manufacturing engineering technician
and network technician at Texas Instruments, employment as a network
engineer at Unum Provident, and his current employment as an I/T
specialist network integrator with IBM Global Services. Jeff's
responsibilities with IBM include managing the LAN/WAN for an

company in Worcester, MA. Having the three degrees
from NEIT has helped Jeff solve problems at work more easily, because
he understands the whole system from the power to the electronics
to the network.
Fully aware that being employed in the information
technology (IT) field requires staying current with technology,
Jeff has taken many certificate courses for networking as well as
Microsoft products, and has also obtained CISCO certification as
a CCNA. He is currently working toward additional CISCO certification
as a CCNP.
Prior to NEIT, Jeff was a clerk in a grocery store.
Today, he is a respected professional in the IT field. He believes
that education and hard work are two requirements for career success.
Outside of work, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife and two
sons, ages 3 and 9. He coaches his oldest son's baseball team, and
recently enjoyed restoring a 1976 MGB for his wife.
