OTA Students Share Their Experiences

Quarter six Occupational Therapy Assistant Technology (OTA) students recently held the first biannual senior OTA colloquium. The students prepared a professional presentation that was highlighted in a poster presentation format. The presentation provided knowledge and awareness as to the development of occupational therapy practice and implementation of services in a variety of setting and methods. This year, the topics for the presentation included:

  • Spirituality in occupational therapy intervention: Where does it fit in? Presented by Suzanne Lombardi
  • Is occupational therapy a valuable service for families with children living in homeless shelters? Presented by Alison Machado
  • A pilot study investigating the effects of constraint induced therapy. Presented by Susie Amaral
  • Pediatric game board: Infusing function into school based practice. Presented by AmyBeth Silva
  • Occupational therapy services: A valuable link to rehabilitation of women in prisons. Presented by Cathy Georgitis
  • Incorporating occupational therapy services into the YMCA. Presented by Catarina Faria
