Employers Come Looking for Automotive,
Auto Body and Marine Technology Students

A student completes an application for Mercedes Benz

On January 31st, the Career Services Office held its annual Automotive/Auto Body/Marine Career Fair on the Access Road Campus. Thirty-three employers attended the event to speak with students from all quarters about career opportunities related to the automotive and marine industries. "The diversity of employers was amazing this year," stated Pat Blakemore, Career Services Coordinator. "It is great that employers from businesses beyond the traditional dealerships and marinas are interested in our students and graduates. For example, representatives from the materials handling industry were on hand to speak with students about opportunities with forklift repair, and representatives from the boat building industry came to meet auto body and marine students." Also present were recruiters from BMW, Mercedes Benz, Volvo, Audi, and Volkswagen to administer testing to graduating students for their respective factory training programs. The Career Fair was an exciting and informative event for both students and employers.
