ABT Students Present Their Design Studio Project

Students in the Architectural/Building Engineering Technology program must complete a course entitled Building Design and Technology I. In this course students explore the architectural and engineering process by solving an actual design problem. Students then make a graphic presentation representing their solution to a jury of critics from the ABT Department at the end of the quarter.
"The design studio parallels real life," says Phil Marks, "in the respect that a student must not only create the design, but also be able to communicate and present it."

Michael MacPherson, an ABT student, presents a formal presentation of his sophomore level design studio project. (l-r) Professor Lonardo, Michael, and Department Chair Phil Marks openly discuss Michael's project. Throughout the presentation, students must defend their design solution as the critics challenge it.

(l-r) Professors Champigny, Lonardo, Kirton and Marks then review and approve the project.

Four other ABT students anxiously await their turn to present.
