Board Games & Playing Cards
Board Games and playing cards are available for students to use. Contact Melissa Hague for availability.Her office is located in the Student Lounge, CT Bldg. Please have your NEIT Student ID to sign out the games or cards.

Chess

Come take part in a game or learn how to play chess on Tuesdays at 11:15 a.m. in the CT Bldg. Student Lounge. 

Basketball
Open Basketball is available for all NEIT students with their student ID at Healthtrax Fitness & Wellness (next to Chelo’s Restaurant), 2191 Post Road, Warwick, RI on the following dates:
January 20, 25, February 3, 18, 17, and March 1 and 10.Students may play between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. It is FREE! Space is limited.

Blood Drive
The RI Blood Center held a Blood Drive on December 6 on the Post Road and Access Road campuses and collected a total of 29 pints of blood. Thank you to all donors. You have helped to save the lives of others.


SIC TV Raffle Winner-Pat Hughes of the Digital Recording Arts technology
was the winner of the 50/50 raffle conducted by the SIC TV Student Club.

SIC TV (Students In Communications Television)
On January 10, SIC TV (Students In Communications Television) hosted its premiere of Episode 5.  The episodes were seen on the plasma televisions and big screen in the CT Bldg. Student Lounge.  If you want to be a part of Episode 6, contact VRP Assistant Professor, Mark Murphy, mmurphy@neit.edu for more information.


Brian Kenny of SkillsUSA recruited new members for the Club at Club Recruitment Fair.

Club Recruitment Fair
The Club Recruitment Fair was held on January 5. At this event, students and faculty had the opportunity to learn about the different clubs on campus. All NEIT Student Clubs are open to all students from any technology. Participation in some technical club activities may require that a student possess certain technical proficiencies in order to participate fully. The next Club Recruitment Fair will be held on Thursday, March 30 in the Student Lounge, CT Building.

Open Mic
Open Mic was be held on January 26 in the CT Bldg. Student Lounge.   Some performances included singing, playing an instrument, poetry, and comedy.


“Art Opening” Exhibit – Reception, January 19
The “Art Opening” Exhibit is now on display in the NEIT library throughout the Winter Quarter. The artwork exhibited has been created by students from the Fall 2005 Quarter HU203 Introduction To Drawing Course. The Instructor, Tony InDelicato, started the class by stressing the theme of limitation. Students limited their medium strictly to Conte Crayon on paper in black and white.

PlayStation 2 Tournament –Madden Football 06
Sign up now for the PlayStation 2 video game tournament. Games start at 12:00 p.m. in the Hall of Fame Room. The championship game will be played on Feb. 2 at 11:15 a.m. on the big screen in the Media Presentation Theatre. Students must sign-up in advance by emailing Melissa Hague, Student Activities Coordinator, mhague@neit.edu 
All entries must be in before 10:00 a.m. on January 27.
Space is limited to the first 16 student to sign-up!

The RI Blood Center will be conducting a Blood Drive on February 9, 2006.  The Blood Drive will be located in the CT Bldg. Student Lounge from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  The Mobile Donor Coach will at the Access Road Campus between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Meet with employers to discuss current and future career opportunities. The fair will be held in the Center for Automotive Technologies Building located on the Access Road campus and will take place from 10:00 a.m.– 12:30 p.m. All Automotive Technology and Collision Repair Technology students and graduates are invited to attend. Space is limited to the first 16 students who sign-up.
The first 16 students to sign-up by emailing Melissa Hague, mhague@neit.edu, will be divided into two groups of eight (the first eight students to sign-up will be Group A, the last eight students to sign-up will be Group B). The winner of Group A and the winner of Group B will play each other for the overall pool tournament winner.

IIDA - International Interior Design Association

Being a member of a NEIT IIDA Student Chapter can help you cultivate your leadership skills and offer valuable networking opportunities. IIDA will have guest speakers and workshops that are geared toward the interests of interior design students. Look on campus for fliers with meeting dates. WIN – Women’s Interest Network
The Women’s Interest Network group is for all students who are interested in discussing topics such as: stress management, time management, financing, business etiquette, career guidance, parenting and general women's issues.  This group will also become involved in activities with Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Girl Scouts, and Hats for Homeless.

WNET Tech Radio

WNET Tech Radio is an on-campus radio station. The station is currently on-air various times throughout the day in the Student Lounge of the CT Building. This club allows students to improve their radio skills and learn how a radio station operates. Students may go on-air live or use prerecorded segments. The Tech Radio Club also has positions available for off-air talent. Club meetings will be on Thursdays weeks 2, 4, 6, 8, & 10 at 11:15 a.m. in room CT233 (second floor of the CT Building). Phi Theta Kappa – International Honor Society
Phi Theta Kappa membership at NEIT is open to students who have completed a minimum of 24 quarter credits with a GPA of 3.8 or above in the Associate program. As a member, your academic excellence will be recognized with the Golden Key Membership Pin, membership certificate and identification card, notation of membership on your diploma and transcripts, and the privilege of wearing regalia at graduation that sets you apart as a Phi Theta Kappa member. New England Tech Pit Crew Club

Are you ready for the NASCAR Season? The New England Tech Pit Crew Club is in season May through October at Seekonk Speedway. The New England Tech Pit Crew Club provides students with the opportunity to assist teams in the pits while gaining hands-on-training during races at Seekonk Speedway for the entire season.
